The artistic expression
Linnaeus excelled in natural description. This eloquence places the scientific reports from his excursions throughout Sweden into the history of Swedish literature.

The artistic expression is an important tool in education and in understanding the many facets of Linnaeus' work and his landscape. Linnaeus personally valued education and expressed himself persuasively and creatively in his speech and writings.

It is with this spirit of eloquent natural description that many different artists have offered their thoughts and impressions of the Linnaean landscape. Their cooperative efforts are a part of the celebration of the Linnaean Landscape project.

One effort is the creation of an exhibition at the Museum Gustavianum in Uppsala. This exhibition is based on Linnaeus' outstanding teaching and is open September 9, 2006 to May 6, 2007.
